Staff Employment Opportunities

One Bright Ray Staff members fill a variety of essential roles in the OBR community. They serve as integral members of each campus’ team of faculty and staff. They are responsible for establishing a supportive environment and for being an active participant in their school community.

Members of One Bright Ray Staff work collaboratively with Administration, Teachers, and other Staff members. They must communicate effectively with colleagues and students and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.

Post-Secondary Counselor

The Post-Secondary Counselor is tasked with assisting all OBRCHS students in developing their plan post high school. This includes college applications, completing the FAFSA, job applications, as well as organizing college and career fairs, and college trips.

EST Counselor

As a member of the Emotional Support Team, the Emotional Support Counselor works to support student emotional needs. This includes providing individual and group counseling to students relative to academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. As well as providing crisis intervention support, counseling and education for topics such as bereavement/grief, bullying, positive relationships, and societal concerns.

Social Worker

As a member of the Emotional Support Team, the Social Worker works to support student emotional needs. This includes conducting needs assessments and connecting students and families to appropriate community resources, and providing crisis counseling as needed. Social workers are also required to conduct weekly home visits to re-engage truant students.

Youth Mentor

The Youth Mentor is a member of the Emotional Support Team at OBRCHS. The Youth Mentor provides mentorship to students identified in need of social and emotional guidance. The Youth Mentor should have an understanding of student emotional and social needs in a non-traditional educational setting.

Receptionist

The Receptionist is a member of the Student Services team, and the first direct contact for anyone reaching out to the campus. The Receptionist is responsible for managing all incoming phone calls and directing them to the appropriate person, managing the school store, and completing teacher copy requests. The Receptionist may also assist with other Student Services tasks, such as collecting/distributing cell phones and updating bulletin boards.

NTA

NTA’s are essential school personnel who assist faculty and administration providing a safe environment for students. They perform routine security functions in an assigned area or areas by following prescribed schedules set by School Principal. NTA’s also perform routine and non-routine cleaning in an assigned area or areas to provide the proper building sanitation by following prescribed cleaning schedules set by Principal.

Mansion Campus Evening

Full-Time School Counselor

As a member of the Emotional Support Team, the School Counselor works to support student emotional needs. This includes providing individual counseling to students relative to academic, and emotional needs. The School Counselor also works with each student develop post-secondary plans.

*Must be available to work afternoon/evening hours.*

Part-Time Social Work

Harcum College at One Bright Ray

Learning Coach

Learning coaches build strong relationships with a cohort of 25-30 college students in order to increase student accountability and success. They make weekly contact with a cohort of students to follow up on their pending assignments and general progress in the program and provide encouragement and tutoring for students who may need additional supports.

  • Must be willing to work afternoon/evening hours.
  • This is a Part-Time position. 10 hours per week during the academic school year.
